The firm was established in 1980 as a one man operation and continues to specialize in a progressive ecological approach. KLECE ecologists will help guide your project from pre-design site evaluation through design, permitting, construction and monitoring.
The firm is internationally recognized for its expertise in natural systems evaluation and management. KLECE has designed, constructed and managed two regional mitigation banks in southwest Florida. The company’s vast watershed and wetland restoration experience has been applied to large scale low-impact development design and allows KLECE to be at the fore-front of green development. Additionally, KLECE’s approach to evaluating project sites starting with compiling an ecological history to compare with current conditions has made KLECE’s expertise an integral design component of large scale projects that balance the growing needs of the developing world with its environment. Many thousands of acres have been designed and constructed under the company’s supervision for both private and public sector projects. In addition, many native wetlands are subject to regular monitoring, research and publication. Since 1974 Kevin Erwin and/or the firm have evaluated well over one-million acres within the State of Florida alone. Today KLECE’s services include; property evaluation, environmental permitting, resource protection and restoration, watershed evaluation and management, GIS, construction oversight, teaching, expert witness testimony and litigation assistance.
