Kevin L. Erwin, CE, PSW

Principal Ecologist/President
Founder and CEO of Kevin L. Erwin Consulting Ecologist, Inc.

Mr. Erwin is an internationally recognized wetlands ecology expert specializing in wetland restoration and management and has over the past four decades, designed, implemented and studied hundreds of wetland and watershed projects. His landscape and wetland ecology expertise includes wetland hydrology, water quality, vegetation, and wildlife. His recent work has focused on large-scale wetland restoration, watershed evaluation and management to improve the functional capacity of wetlands to implement source water protection and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Michael Frankenberger, CE

Senior Ecologist
For the past fourteen years, Michael Frankenberger has held the position of ecologist/project manager at KECE. In this position, Michael provides environmental consulting services to private landowners and government agencies relating to habitat assessments, environmental permitting, habitat restoration, listed species management, and land management activities. Prior to joining KECE, Michael worked as a botanist/ecologist, mapping natural habitats in central and south Florida as part of the state’s GAP analysis project. In the process of attaining his degree in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of Florida, Michael worked as a research assistant on a wetland forest succession study and as a research technician on a cypress forest regeneration study for the University’s Department of Forestry.

Kristoffer Bowman, CE

Senior Ecologist

Kris has been with the firm for nearly 12 years. During this time he has provided environmental consulting services to private landowners, engineering firms, commercial and residential developers, and local, state and federal government agencies. These services include listed wildlife species surveys and monitoring, vegetation surveys and monitoring, wetland jurisdictional determinations, wetland functional assessments, preliminary site evaluations, habitat restoration and management, project management, and report preparation. For over 10 years, Kris has provided ecosystem management services for a regional wetland mitigation bank located on a unique coastal island which was designed and managed by KECE. His education includes a B.S. in Wildlife Science from Purdue University and a M.S. in Wildlife Science from Auburn University. Kris is certified as a Senior Ecologist by The Ecological Society of America.

Kim Trebatoski,  CE

Senior Ecologist

Kim Trebatoski brings over 15 years of experience to the firm including 10 years of environmental permitting and planning with Lee County government. For seven years Kim supervised the environmental components of development review and permitting. Kim’s position with KECE is a senior ecologist/project manager. Her knowledge of Florida ecosystems and water resource management combined with her experience in environmental policy and permitting make it possible for her active participation from site evaluation through design, permitting, construction and monitoring. Kim has managed construction oversight on one of the regional mitigation banks designed and managed by KECE, as well as participated in permit driven monitoring activities on a variety of projects.
